I have always loved a good story. In this series of paintings, I start with a cast of characters, adding props and a background for a scenario that I see in my head. I amuse myself with the incongruity of placing things that one wouldn’t normally see together. I hope this prompts the viewer to ponder questions like, “Why is there a wagon full of penguins in the middle of a field?” Or “Why is there a fox with three hares in an indoor setting?” By answering these questions, I hope viewers will create their own story.
